What is artificial Intelligence?

The overall perception of what constitutes artificial intelligence is changing in step with the evolution of the technology. Researcher Jim Hendler argues that artificial intelligence is “what people are currently better at, but which we are trying to get machines to do.” This approach means that we can never be truly satisfied with today’s technology. As soon as a machine can accomplish a task as well or better than a human being, we no longer consider this to be artificial intelligence – then it’s just computer science. The positive thing about this approach is that it means we are always striving for new challenges.

How can businesses adopt new technology?

These are exciting times for artificial intelligence. The field has existed since the 1950s, and the technology is not new. Yet the use of artificial intelligence in the workplace is relatively new but rapidly growing.

A growing number of companies are implementing such technologies to create business value. One might say that artificial intelligence is a system’s ability to interpret external data, learn from them, and use this knowledge to carry out tasks and achieve specific goals. In other words, such systems can absorb sensory input, make assessments, and perform actions.

Did you know..

  • The field of artificial intelligence has existed since the 1950s.

  • Artificial intelligence is a collective term for machine learning, deep learning, and deep inference.

  • Most people use artificial intelligence – for example, when they dictate text messages, search for information online, or filter out junk e-mail.

How do we help companies adopt artificial intelligence?

Artificial intelligence is a relatively new theme for many business leaders. It can therefore be challenging to figure out how a company can best adopt this new technology. At Simplifai we help identify the possibilities and outline what the end result and goal should be. For example:

  • That new technology will contribute to increased profitability
  • That the business accomplishes more tasks without hiring more people
  • That the people in the company can spend their time on other tasks that cannot be accomplished with the help of artificial intelligence
  • Simplify and reduce routine tasks
  • Increase employee job satisfaction

5-day process analysis

To identify the possibilities, we conduct a project that spans five days. We examine how a company’s employees work and how its systems function. In doing so, we discover the efficiency potential on which we base our recommendations.

Design thinking workshop

(Day 1–2)

We hold a workshop where we map out the client’s challenges and possibilities.

  • How is the company organised?
  • What processes can be automated?
  • Who is responsible for which areas?

(Day 3–4)

After the workshop, we analyse all of the information and write a report with recommendations for actions and possibilities for improvement in the company.

Presentation for management

(Day 5)

We present our findings, and make recommendation with:

  • Specification of the technology
  • Needs for resources
  • Place for carrying out the activities
  • Time and price range for the project
